Did you ask yourself why you have Ego and what is the impact of Ego on your Soul?

Let’s look at Ego, what is it and what role does Ego play in your life?

A simple definition of Ego is: your idea or opinion of yourself, especially your feeling of your own importance and ability.

We all have an Ego and to have an Ego can be perceived most of the time negative and sometimes positive. For example, it is not being egotistical to know you’re good at what you do.  People in the arts, for example, are known to have a high Ego but having a high Ego might just mean they are aware of their gifted talents. Ego can also mean a solid, healthy and strong sense of self.

You Ego can also have a negative side. This is generally driven by an over sense of self value, such as being egotistical or egocentric. The way you want the world to see you, the image you have of yourself and perhaps your title and position at work. Ego can also affect your relationship with other people by allowing you to create an air of self-importance.

From a spiritual perspective, negative Ego is based on a fear of separation and disconnection from the Divine Source.

When your negative Ego is in control, you are consumed by fear based your emotions such anger, stress or disappointment and this can trigger anxiety, depression and constant self judgement. The main limiting beliefs that are playing in your life are ‘I’m not good enough’ or ‘I can do this’. To feed your negative Ego you constantly need validation from others and your worth depends on materialistic things such as house, car, job, even your partner or friends.  Ego will drive your daily life and make you sensitive to everything, you get upset easily if things are not done your way or you are offended by others. It takes you out from the present moment, with thoughts about past or future.

We all have to deal with Ego at different stages in our life, but the reality is that we don’t have to believe what it has to say because it is just a ‘mask’, is not who we really are. Holistic Therapies

What about the Soul?

Your Soul is your true self, who you really are, divine energy from Divine Consciousness /Universe. The Soul guides and supports you through your life to find your true purpose and to feel strong, confident, empowered and also peaceful, with less fear and worries.

Your Soul guides you to self-love, self-acceptance, self-worth, happiness and forgiveness. When you let your Soul guide you, you know your worth, your goals are clear and don’t rely on anyone else to achieve them because you have the power. You trust the direction you are guided, attract the right people and situations and manifest your dreams easily. You accept yourself as you are and also accept others without judgement. You are in the flow with life and live in the present moment, are connected with the Universe and everything around you.

Your Soul is immortal and exists outside the limits of this dimension of space and time. It is your consciousness, your true self, you are born with your Sole and it is with you forever.

How to find ways to deal with your Ego and pay more attention to your Soul?

Your Soul is challenging to reject the talk of Ego (your perceived identity) and be guided by your Soul (your true self). There is a constant tension between Ego and Soul and you need to establish a relationship that works. It requires personal development and inner work to find your life purpose, why you are here and what you are meant to be doing with your life. If you let your Soul drive your life, the Ego has less power and superiority. That’s where you start living a meaningful life and manifest your dreams.

For me, the easiest way to silence my Ego and to connect with my Soul is through my heart. I really love to connect with my heart, the seat of my Soul.

To connect with your heart, you need to be still, relax and feel your heart beating. If you feel fear or worry, ask your heart if it has a message for you, what do you need to know, what is fear trying to tell you? You will receive an insight; a word, a sign, a symbol or any other form of communication. This communication will become easier if you practice ‘awareness’, to be in the present, surrender and have no expectation. Your intuition will ‘talk’ to you, it is your innate power that wants to help and support you.

I love to meditate in the morning as this is the best time for me time to still my mind and connect to my Soul. Towards the end of meditation, I ask for a message; ‘What is it that I need to know today to be of service to all for the highest good?’ I always receive supportive insights /communication and sometimes it is just a word or other times a longer message. I write it in my journal, so I can reflect during the day.

I also love to spend time in nature to connect with Mother Earth and all her beautiful elements. This feels my heart with love and gratitude, and makes my Soul happy.

I recommend you develop a connection to your Soul through your heart, meditate and spend time in nature. The more you connect and listen to your Soul the more love, wisdom and empowerment you get and your Ego’s power diminishes.

Try to do this few minutes a day and you see your life improve immensely.
